The new Lotus Elise Sprint 220 is an updated version of the super-lightweight sports cars. The most revolutionary thing about the Sprint, offers the most significant changes. Among the lightweight alterations is a new lightweight lithium-ion packets, carbon-fibre race seats, forged alloy wheels, a polycarbonate rear window, carbon fibre bootlid, roll hoop cover, and engine cover. Updated design for its front and rear bumpers, new taillights and a revamped interior with alcantara and contrasting stitching, as well as an open gate gear lever. A new centre console, and new entertainment system have been added with iPod and Bluetooth connectivity is available as an option.
Other changes to the Elise Sprint 220 lineup have helped create a more even balance of downforce across the car, with rubber flaps on the underside and front wheels modifying airflow under the car to reduce drag and increase stability, as does an additional rear diffuser vane. Suspension duties are handled by double wishbones all around, with a front anti-roll bar, Bilstein high-performance gas dampers and Eibach coaxial coil springs. The brakes feature AP Racing twin-piston front callipers and Brembo single-piston rear callipers, and all models feature switchable stability control (Drive, Sport, Off) as standard.
Powered by a choice of two Toyota engines – 1.6 litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine with maximal output 134 hp/160 Nm, allowing the car to hit 60 mph in 5.9 seconds. And a 1.8 litre supercharged mill with maximal output 217 hp/250 Nm, allowing the car to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds. Moreover, receives a new exhaust system for 2017.
